Millstone Plantation is in the process of renovating and repairing the old farmstead with plans to turn it into a Folk School offering classes, festivals, concerts and more. The Textile and Fiber Festival is one of the events we will hold annually.
To celebrate the North Florida Plantation farmsteads, Millstone has ressurected an old festival once held on the grounds of Millstone Plantation - the Weaver's Festival. The matriarch of Millstone was a weaver and each year opened the farmstead to the community and elementary school students to watch weaving demonstrations, sheep shearing etc.
We have created a broader vision with Textiles and Filbers and offer numerous demonstrations by fiber artists - but we still we be shearing the sheep and llamas!
