Phyllis Straus Gallery presents “Patience the Cat” by Kris Ibarra.
Vulnerability is essential to genuine human connection; it’s a telephone line that involves submission on both ends. Lacking a positive self-image distorts an individual’s perception on their wellbeing; avoiding attention and isolation are prominent in an echoist. Patience the Cat is a cartoonish metaphor for echoism; a coping mechanism developed in response to narcissistic abuse. When mental illness is deeply rooted in the subconscious, patience is vital when moving forward towards recovery. It’s no easy task to accept when we need help, but it’s crucial in order to reach others intimately.
Free Admission. By Appointment only or CAB access. Please email us at phyllis.straus.gallery@gmail.com to schedule a time to view the exhibition.
