History at High Noon—Fourteenth Colony: The Forgotten Story of the Gulf South

Presented by Museum of Florida History at Museum of Florida History

Mike Bunn, Director of Historic Blakeley State Park, will discuss his new book Fourteenth Colony: The Forgotten Story of the Gulf South during America's Revolutionary Era.

British West Florida once stretched from the banks of the Mississippi to the Apalachicola River, but now has become the forgotten 14th colony. West Florida did not rebel against the British government and has been commonly dismissed as an inconsequential region. Bunn addresses this by exploring the many interesting characters of the colony and their dramatic stories.

Join us in person for this month's History at High Noon with Mike Bunn to hear more about West Florida and its distinct role in Colonial America.

Cafe de Leon, located in the Museum lobby, is open for lunch before and after the program.
