Joan Kanan is the Featured Artist of the Month at The Wiregrass Gallery Thomasville. Her art will be available through the gallery all of July.
Here is a short autobiography from the Artist.
"I started my second career as an artist after years of working in education and state and local governments. I work with clay, acrylics and oil. I have shown my work in galleries and shows in Tallahassee, Apalachicola and South Georgia. Those include the Annual Art at Gadsden show, Westminister Oaks, FAMU, the Apalachicola Art and History Center and the Senior Artist Showcase at the Tallahassee Senior Center. Nomads Gallery in Tallahassee and The Waterfront Gallery in Apalachicola have also carried my work. I am currently President of the Wiregrass Gallery in Thomasville Georgia where my paintings and clay sculptures are available. My style varies but I like strong colors and bold statement to be reflected in my pieces. My subject matter is taken from my travels and reflects the beauty of the coastal south.
