Dedication Ceremony for an historical marker remembering the documented victims of lynching in Leon County and a brief Interfaith Remembrance Service immediately following the dedication.
After years of collaboration with the Equal Justice Initiative (Montgomery, AL) as well as city and county leaders and numerous partnering organizations, the Tallahassee Community Remembrance Project is proud to dedicate a narrative marker that will help us remember and acknowledge past and present racial violence and injustice in Leon County. Following a marker dedication ceremony which is open to all and held near the oak tree at the corner of East Gaines and South Meridian Streets, everyone is invited to a brief interfaith service at Cascades Park Amphitheater.
If a person with a disability requires an accommodation to participate or if special seating arrangements are needed, requests should be made to the event coordinator seventy-two hours prior to the event. For more information: 850-559-6722
