What’s The Point?: Embroidery as Art - Gallery Talk

at LeMoyne Arts

Rebecca Lockenbach, member of both Canopy Oaks and North Florida Nature Coast Chapter of the Pomegranate Guild will present overview of the history of Judaic Needle Arts and will highlight embroidered items including a wedding chuppah (canopy) and a challah (bread) cover. Participants will learn about traditional Jewish items used in the home, the synagogue, and for life cycle events.

Don't forget to visit the What's the Point exhibition before or after this lecture. Members of both Canopy Oaks Chapter EGA and North Florida Nature Coast Chapter of the Pomegranate will be available to provide additional information about the pieces of embroidery in the exhibition.
