Special Exhibit: Military Tribute

at Unknown

The Carrabelle History Museum invites you to learn the stories of some of our areas military veterans during a special exhibit on display through Sunday May 30th. This temporary exhibit pays tribute to several local men who served, some of whom also sacrificed, in our country’s armed forces. The exhibit honors five men from Carrabelle who served in the military representing WW1, WW2, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Willie F. Grice (WW1)
Walter J. Mallett (WW2)
Dr. George Sands (WW2)
Claude L. Stokes (Korean)
Robert "Cliff" Millender (Vietnam)

A heartfelt thank you to the families of these men for sharing their stories with us and entrusting us with the care of some cherished items. A big thank you as well to Lisa Keith-Lucas and Camp Gordon Johnston WW2 Museum for their assistance in making this happen!

The Carrabelle History Museum is open on Wed from 12-5 pm, Thurs to Sat from 10 am - 5 pm and Sunday from 12- 5 pm and is located one block south of US 98 in Carrabelle.  There is no charge for admission but donations are gladly accepted. For more information call 850-697-2141.
