Virtual History at High Noon: Exploring the Early Civil Rights Movement, 1920-1930

Presented by Museum of Florida History at Online/Virtual Space

Speaker: Dr. Thomas Robinson, Museum of Florida History

When people discuss the Civil Rights Movement, they often focus on the 1950s and 1960s. While those decades were crucial to the eventual success of the movement, the foundation of those successes came in the years immediately following World War I. After having fought in the Great War, many African American men returned to the United States dedicated to achieving equal rights, having seen that segregation was not the norm in other parts of the world.
