A virtual/social media presentation of the Fall Florida A&M University Fine Arts students.
The FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery and Visual Arts Program proudly announces the virtual presentation of Visions Graduating Senior Art Exhibition. Visions is the culmination of art students' matriculation through the FAMU art program. It is a capstone art exhibition presenting our current Fine Arts seniors' fully realized art series, (usually presented at the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery). This semester, we have three graduating seniors: Kala Brown (Miami, FL), Imani Carter (Tallahassee, FL), and De'Auzhoni Woods (Avon Park, FL). Brown's series titled, "The New Zodiak" pays homage to Y2K fashion and pop culture through the reimagining of the zodiac signs. Woods' "My Origin is Beautiful" series displays portraits of men and women of African/Aboriginal origin, emphasizing the beauty and diversity of their features. Carter's "Fossilized Forever" series investigates our future socio-political landscape via mixed media sculpture. Due to the gallery's temporary COVID-19 closure, we invite you to check out the Fine Arts graduates' art series via our social media platforms. Check out our fall graduates on our Instagram page here: FAMU Foster-Tanner Gallery Instagram or our Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery Facebook. Their work will be on view starting Friday, November 20. Virtual presentations will include each senior's full series of artworks and artist vlogs. You can also search #FAMU2020VisionsĀ on Instagram and Facebook.
