The Florida Historic Capitol Museum presents a conversation featuring Dr. Paul Ortiz and Dr. Ashley Robertson Preston from the University of Florida with moderator Dr. Kimberly Brown Pellum from Florida A&M University. Scholar and audience questions will guide the discussion covering the work of nineteenth and twentieth-century Black women’s clubs and members, the impact of the 19th Amendment in Florida, and the ongoing fight to overcome intentional disenfranchisement throughout the twentieth century.
