A new collection of watercolors.
Christine Black is a life-long painter who grew up in New England and studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts. Many years spent migrating between the Florida Keys and Nantucket inspired her fascination with coastal seas, skies and infinitely changing weather patterns. Her intensely saturated watercolors are rendered in an instinctive way that allows the pigment to freely discover how the painting will evolve and find its final form.
Currently, Christine lives and works at her Blackbird Farm & Studio - an organic farm and art studio/gallery near the historic town of Micanopy in rural central Florida. She frequently visits Apalachicola to explore the estuarine river and bay system, with its marshes, creeks and barrier island sanctuaries.
This collection of new work reflects the stormy iridescent colors of the summer season on our gulf coast. The show is on view both in-gallery Wed-Sat 11-5, and on-line through July 31.
