Join us at 10:30 a.m. on our Facebook page as local author Amon Rwito reads his book "My Dad Loves Me!" We will be posting the video at 10:30 a.m. on our Facebook page. About the Author: Amon Rwito was born in a family of eight children at a village in Meru, Kenya. Education was valued, but not always available to poorer families like his. He is acutely aware that children are doomed to a future of missed opportunities and closed doors if they can’t read or do basic math at an early age. Amon is an elementary school teacher in Tallahassee Florida, who challenges his gifted and talented students and enables his struggling students to SOAR! He is a creative, hands-on instructor who sets high standards for all of his students. He builds his lessons around children’s fascination with building and taking things apart to see how they work. He excites his students, challenges them, demands excellence, and they LEARN! Amon wrote his books, I Love My Mom!, and I Love My Dad! to encourage children to fall in love with reading and develop fluency, comprehension and increase the use of vocabulary words at an early age. As a gifted endorsed and a National Board Certified teacher, Amon believes that through text and colorful illustrations in his books, emerging readers will be able to form connections between animals and humans and the universal love that they all share and show to their children. Amon’s core values include the love of God, love of family, and a penchant for teaching science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) to young children.
