Our March featured poet, Jane Terrell, recently won the Yellow Jacket Press Florida Poet's Chapbook Contest, for her chapbook, Heartbroke and Lucky.

Jane lives uphill from the cypress swamps at the Miccosukee Land Cooperative in Tallahassee, Florida.  She is a graduate of the Florida State University Creative Writing Program, with a Graduate Certificate in Publishing and Editing. Her poetry has appeared in Penumbra, Main Street Rag, Apalachee Review, and Mothering Magazine, as well as the Museum of Broken Relationships collection: Modern Love in 203 Everyday Objects. Several of her travel essays were published at IExplore.com.  In 2018 she co-wrote and directed four skits for the debut performance of the Merry Swampsters Theater. In 2019 she won the Yellow Jacket Press Florida Poet's Chapbook Contest, which resulted in the publication of her chapbook, Heartbroke and Lucky. She is currently writing a memoir of the year she spent traveling through Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe after the death of her husband.
