Organ Concert by Dr. Paul Tegels

Presented by Tallahasee Chapter - American Guild of Organists and Florida State University College of Music at First Presbyterian Church

The FSU College of Music in association with the Tallahassee Chapter of the American Guild of Organists will present special guest artist Dr. Paul Tegels on Sunday, March 1st at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Tallahassee. A native of the Netherlands, Dr. Tegels is Associate Professor of Organ at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He has performed extensively in solo and ensemble concerts in the United States, Europe, Japan, and New Zealand. His Tallahassee program features several works by J. S. Bach, as well as pieces by Buxtehude, Scheidemann, Bruna, Mendelssohn, and Matter.

Professor Tegels will also conduct a performance master class, coaching students of FSU Associate Professor of Organ Iain Quinn on Saturday, February 29th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at First Presbyterian.

The Taylor and Boody mechanical action organ at First Presbyterian is one of Tallahassee’s musical treasures, and its rich tonal palette will be showcased by Dr. Tegel’s diverse musical selections from the Baroque era and the twentieth century. Admission to the master class and the concert is free and open to the public.
