Shaun O. Smith has published two books of poetry. He currently lives in Panama City, Florida. He is the co-curator of the local poetry society Grass Routes, which publishes a quarterly publication of the same name. When Shaun isn’t writing poetry, he is spending time with his wife, daughter, and newborn son.

More than a coffee table book or conversation starter, The Results of a Failed Abortion is an autobiographical collection of poems by Smith. It reveals the abuse he dealt with at a young age and the mental illness that ensued, which continues to cling to him to this day. While this is Smith's poetic debut it is strictly autobiographical and does not represent who he is as a poet.
