Horse Girl Theory is Kassadie Nieto’s solo show in the cafeteria of the Charnaghi Arts Building
In her solo show, Horse Girl Theory, Kassadie Nieto is concerned with generational tendencies toward obsession. Through particularly obsessive processes including printmaking and book arts, the work uses adolescent imagery to explore what it means to “love” something in a culture saturated with fandom, social media, and oversharing. Where is the line between identity and performance? What pressures us to love something, to want something, and to stand for something? Are we all horse girls?
