Shibori Dyeing on Silk Scarves

Shibori Dyeing on Silk Scarves

Presented by LeMoyne Arts at LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts

Shibori means to wring, squeeze, or press the fabric in some manner before dyeing. You will learn three shibori dyeing methods on each of three 6" x 24" silk scarves. You will then choose your favorite method to reproduce on a 8" x 72" silk scarf. The three shibori methods include bomaki (pole sewn and wrapped), arashi (folded, twisted, and wrapped), and karamatsu (pleated and compressed). Each scarf will be a work of art!
The supply fee of $20 will cover silk scarves and the use of all supplies needed.
