Surface Design and Dyeing on Silk

Surface Design and Dyeing on Silk

Presented by LeMoyne Arts at LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts

This is an in-depth dyeing class for the art cloth enthusiast. It incorporates contemporary and ancient methods of creating design on silk cloth. Methods will include direct application, marbling, shibori, low immersion, and ice dyeing.
We will explore color theory and apply it to choosing color combinations. Combining the planned project and the unpredictable results of fiber-reactive dye will produce stunning results. Each silk scarf will be unique and a work of art. The fee of $95 will cover silk scarves, bottles of silk dye, and the use of all needed supplies.
