Camp Gordon Johnston Benefit Golf Tournament

Camp Gordon Johnston Benefit Golf Tournament

Presented by Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum at St. James Bay Golf Club

Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum and St. James Bay Golf Club will be hosting an Inaugural Camp Gordon Johnston Benefit Golf Tournament on the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7. This tournament will honor the brave men and women who responded to our country’s need and served in the armed forces at home and abroad. Sponsors are earnestly needed by Monday, December 2 in order to make this tournament a successful event.

All proceeds will help fund a new building to house Camp Gordon Johnston’s three historical military vehicles, including the famous WWII DUKW. These historical military vehicles are still operable and because of the current lack of space onsite at the museum, they must be kept at a separate, out-of-town location. This unfortunately makes them less accessible to the public and less available for educational outreach.

Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum has sponsorships available at all levels for this special fundraising effort. The Museum is especially seeking names of veterans to honor or memorialize. For a $50 sponsorship, the name of a veteran and their branch of service will be added to a commemorative sign which will be displayed at the tournament. This sign will then be moved to the museum for a year-long installation. The sponsorship application and golfer entry form can be found at the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum website: https://www.campgordonjohnston.com/visit/special-events/.

The Camp Gordon Johnston Benefit Golf Tournament, being held on Pearl Harbor Day, is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am at St. James Bay Golf Club in Carrabelle, FL on Saturday, December 7.  The Camp Gordon Johnston Museum will display vehicles and artifacts on site during the tournament. Following the tournament there a buffet will be available at the Crooked River Grill in the St. James Bay Clubhouse.

A variety of volunteer opportunities are also available for positions like greeters and judges for the putting contest. Help preserve the memories of those who served our country while having a great time in the process.
