Big Bend Poets & Writers will feature Pat Stanford, Tallahassee author and poet, at an Open Mic event on Tuesday, December 17 starting at 7 P.M. in the warm, intimate Square Mug Cafe and Coffee Shop at Railroad Square Art Park.  Pat will read from her collected poems as well as from her memoir describing her experience of being a caregiver to her sister who was suffering from a severe brain injury.

Pat Stanford has lived in Florida most of her life, and following graduation from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, had a career in the U.S. Air Force.

The first edition of Pat’s memoir Fixing Boo Boo: A Story of Traumatic Brain Injury won the gold medal for Florida Non-fiction in 2017. The second edition is an Amazon #1 Bestseller.

Pat’s collected poems, Proverbs of My Seasons: Poetry of Transition won gold medals in both Poetry and Adult Cover Design in 2019.

Pat is currently serving as out-going President of Tallahassee Writers Association and as President-Elect for Florida Authors and Publishers Association.
