World Music: Blues Ensemble and Andean Ensemble. Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Lindsay Recital Hall.
The FSU College of Music invites you to join us for an evening of world music with the Blues Ensemble and Andean Ensemble on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Lindsay Recital Hall. Admission to this event is free and open to the public.
Known as “Aconcagua,” after the tallest mountain in the Andes (and in the Western Hemisphere), Andean Ensemble performs music from the many traditions of the South American central Andes (Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador). The instrumentation includes kenas, sikus, tarkas, charangos, guitars, arpa índigena, bombo, and cajon.
Blues Ensemble provides the opportunity for both vocalists and instrumental participants to learn and perform traditional and contemporary blues music, as well as music of blues-related traditions including rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and soul.
Unless otherwise noted, all events are free admission and open to the public. Please see http://www.music.fsu.edu/Concerts-and-Events for information about the College of Music venues.
