Hands-on science activities for families!
Join The Grove Museum and the Florida Geological Survey between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, for Backyard Discovery: Florida Rocks!
Backyard Discovery connects you to the natural and cultural history of the site through hands-on science activities. November's program is all about geology! Come explore the FGS mobile lab and participate in activities lead by The Grove Museum's site Naturalist. Visitors will learn about local and regional geology, including how geological processes have created the Floridan Aquifer.
This program is designed for families with elementary and middle school aged children, but all are welcome to participate. Be prepared to be outdoors, wear closed-toed shoes, and bring along sunscreen and bug spray.
Backyard Discovery at The Grove is FREE and open to the public.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds after the program, and tour the museum from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Parking is located at 902 N. Monroe St.
