Written by the Pulitzer Price-Winning playwright, Marsha Norman, "Getting Out" follows Arlene, who has just been deemed “completely rehabilitated” from serving an eight-year prison sentence.Throughout the play, she is trying to navigate her way through her post-prison life, while avoiding falling back into old habits that got her into jail in the first place. Mixing the past and the present, "Getting Out" is a richly layered drama that delves into the darker terrain of the human experience, while forcing us to examine the pitfalls of our criminal justice system.
"Getting Out" contains profanity and depictions of assault that may not be suitable for children under the age of 14.
