A monthly book club at the FAMU Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery.
Join us Saturday, October 19 at 11 am for the first of our Narratives of Necessity Book Club meeting at the Foster-Tanner Fine Arts Gallery. This semester we will be reading “Panther Baby: A Life of Rebellion and Reinvention” by Jamal Joseph. The book connects to the subject-matter of our current art exhibition “Walls Turned Sideway are Bridges: Narratives of Necessity,” an exhibition about radical movements of the 1960s and 1970s.
You can find the “Panther Baby” new or used here: https://www.amazon.com/Panther-Baby-Jamal-Joseph/dp/B0091X8FGI
Each meeting we will have a guest moderator to provide a fresh point of view about the chapters.
For the September 21 meeting, the moderator will be FAMU Social Justice student and author of Ideals of a Young Black Introvert: A Mini Guide to a Better Life Keyshawn McMiller.
