Work with artist Mary Sterner Lawson to learn about capturing your world with inks and watercolor paints!
During this class, participants will have the opportunity to learn an art technique that involves minimal supplies and maximum enjoyment. Sketching people, flowers, scenes and more -- in ink and watercolor – is an enjoyable pastime and a method of recording your unique mode of seeing experience. The eight-week session will focus on easy-to-follow steps leading to a finished product, beginning with drawing techniques, continuing to ways of defining with ink, and finishing up a watercolor wash. Subject matter will include flowers, objects, favorite scenes you have photographed, portraiture, busy scenes, and/or nature. To find plein air subject matter, forays into the LeMoyne garden and nearby scenic spots and/or field trips are possible. Beginners through intermediate level or beyond can participate in this class. This “portable technique” can go with you wherever you travel, enhancing your view of the world around you. And it’s fun!
