Betsy Marsch will exhibit her portrait and figurative paintings August 28 - Sept. 14, 2019, at the Gallery at High Cotton in Apalachicola. This talented visual artist specializes in portrait and figurative painting on reacted copper panels. Also known for her "Minuscules", she works with acids, metal, and unusual materials creating rich substrates for her paintings. Her degree is from Union University (Jackson, TN) in painting, aesthetics, and philosophy; she is a metal smith, artist, and art tutor who exhibits her works in solo and group exhibitions.
Marsch attended the New York Academy of Art and then moved to Franklin, TN, to further develop her work in portraiture under the nihonga painter Makoto Fujimura. This uniquely diverse artist continues to develop her work and focuses on the human figure while using experimental media.
We are so excited for this opportunity to highlight Betsy Marsch's works beginning August 28th through Sept. 14th! Her art will join other new works offered by gallery owner artists, Jenny Odom and Beth Appleton.
