Alligators: Dragons in Paradise

Alligators: Dragons in Paradise

Presented by Museum of Florida History at Unknown

The exhibit covers the evolving nature of man’s interaction with alligators—from early views as mysterious beasts, then as Florida novelties, and later threatened with extinction due to over hunting. Legal protections, combined with proper conservation, have allowed Florida’s alligator population to rebound to sustainable levels. Included in the exhibit is an interactive replica alligator nest. This touchable nest allows for an exciting element of exploration. And be sure to get your picture taken with our 13-foot alligator.
