Virginia Burton Stringer was born in Greenville, South Carolina and grew up in Mathews, Virginia where her childhood on her grandparents' farm made for the development of a rich imagination. Virginia Commonwealth University drama school prepared Stringer for forty-plus years as professional actor, director, high school drama teacher, and now writer. She is a published playwright as well as author of the Maagy Book Series. Having raised a son and two daughters, Ginny is well acquainted with the arduous journey girls embark upon when puberty begins. This experience is the inspiration for the impetuous Princess Maagy. Virginia and husband Bill currently reside in St. Petersburg, FL. with Charlie the cat.
