The public is invited to attend Big Bend Poets & Writers at Barnes & Noble Books, at the Centre of Tallahassee,  2415 N. Monroe St., and hear poet Michael Rothenberg read from selected works.   Michael lived for many years in the San Francisco Bay area, where he knew and collaborated with many of the Beat poets of the day.  His poetry is often in the best tradition of beat poetry, including dramatic presentation, vivid and imaginative imagery, and political and social commentary.  Rothenberg is the editor of BigBridge.org, co-founder of 100 Thousand Poets for Change (www.100tpc.org), and co-founder of Poets In Need, a non-profit 501(c)3, assisting poets in crisis. His most recent books of poetry include Drawing The Shade (Dos Madres Press, 2016), Wake Up and Dream (MadHat Press, 2017), and a bi-lingual edition of Indefinite Detention: A Dog Story (Varasek Ediciones, Madrid, Spain, 2017). He lives in Tallahassee, Florida where is currently Florida State University Libraries Poet in Residence.
