Help paint a mural for the Big Bend Quilt Trail!
This fall the Museum of Fine Arts will feature a painted “quilt” square in our courtyard, one of many on the Big Bend Quilt Trail. This project, coordinated by the Gadsden Art Center, will showcase numerous quilt inspired murals on display throughout our community. Based on Barn Quilts – large, colorful, geometric designs painted on the side of barns – these works will be part of a self-guided tour that will accompany the Gadsden Art Center’s exhibition From the Cedar Chest: Generations of Southern Quilting.
On Saturday, June 22, visitors to MoFA can help paint our contribution to this project. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend. Guests can also make their own quilt-inspired buttons and learn about the histories of different quilt patterns.
