Welcome to the Sundown Concert Series at Cascades Park! All events are FREE and open to all ages. The first concert of the 2019 series features FUTUREBIRDS from Athens, GA. with local legends JB's ZydecoZoo. 7-10PM on Saturday, May 18. Register at the Eventbrite link at the bottom of the page to receive 15% off at participating downtown restaurants the day of the concert.

Attendees are welcome to bring their own food and drinks. Local nonprofits and food trucks will also be on site with food and craft beverages available for purchase. 100% of alcohol sales at the events go to support local nonprofits: Capital City Youth Services, Big Bend Homeless Coalition, CESC, Inc.

In addition to the live musical entertainment, there are tons of family friendly activities at Cascades Park including miles of trails, Discovery Playground, and the Imagination Fountain. FUTUREBIRDS
The music is a patchwork amalgam of influences, including: twangy Southern rock (they've opened for the Drive-By Truckers), reverb-soaked psychedelia reminiscent of early My Morning Jacket or fellow Athens residents Phosphorescent, soaring guitar solos à la Neil Young and Crazy Horse, rhythmic jangle from that other Athens band, REM, multi-part vocal harmonies (which every band ought to have, dammit), and, weaving through it all, lyrical slide guitar.
