Palaver Tree Theater is proud to present a 40th Year Anniversary Production of the 1979 Pulitzer Prizer Winning Play, Buried Child by Sam Shepard.
Buried Child is the 1979 Pulitzer Prize winning play that solidified Sam Shepard as one of America's quintessential dramatists. It's the late 1970s and one family's farm in rural Illinois, much like rest of the country, seems to have seen its better days fade into dusk. Dodge, the father and grandfather of this dysfunctional family, is now a bristling alcoholic. His two sons Tilden and Bradley are either mentally or physically unable to carry on the farm's legacy. And the matriarch, Halie, is determined to uphold the portrait of a respectable home, no matter what secrets must be kept.
A surprise visit from Tilden's estranged son Vince and his sprightly girlfriend, Shelly, frames the setting for an unravelling of the past and a Delphian look at the future. Will the light on the truth be a sunset or a sunrise?
General admission. Tickets available now at $15.00 and will be available at the door if the performance has not been sold out.
