The first annual Sankofa Concert at Cascades will feature “Underground,” a musical.
The First Annual Sankofa Concert will feature song and dance from Underground, a breath-stopping musical that captures one slave's faith and determination to gain freedom for his family. Underground features songs from the 21-times award winning film and play, "Hear the Sound of Freedom." Written by Akil DuPont, filmmaker, playwright & educator (www.DuPontProductions.net) and graduate of FSU's Film School, and directed by Lili Forbes (Lyrical Lynn), of Tallahassee. Music written by Nicholas Wheeler, Michael Gilreath, Curtis Bryant, James Deckle, John Hardon II, Tom & Judy Coogle, Noah Jackson and Christopher Rochester.
Tickets are FREE; they may be obtained early from Eventbrite.com; donations to our 501c3 organization are welcome and may also be made on Eventbrite.com. It is listed on the website as the First Annual Sankofa Concert.
