Michael Rothenberg is co-founder of 100 Thousand Poets for Change and Florida State University Libraries Poet in Residence. He has been writing and performing poetry for nearly 40 years. He has published over 20 books of poetry. As recipient of the Creative Work Fund Grant he has performed his poetry with The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Johnny Lee Schell (Bonnie Raitt), Debra Dobkins (Richard Thompson), John B. Williams (Freddy Hubbard), Joe Sublette (Taj Mahal, Eric Clapton), and Marty Ehrlich (Anthony Braxton, John Zorn).

Longineu Parsons is a classically trained trumpeter who plays in a wide variety of styles including jazz, blues, jazz fusion and classical. He is currently an Associate Professor of Music at Florida A&M University (FAMU) and heads small independent label Tribal Records. Parsons played for Nat Adderley, Cab Calloway, Doc Severinsen, Herbie Mann, Archie Shepp Sun Ra, Branford Marsalis and many more. He appeared in the national production of Satchmo. He was a featured soloist in the Great Performances special "Three Mo' Tenors."

Michael Bakan is Professor of Ethnomusicology and Head of the World Music Ensembles program at Florida State University, where he directs the Omnimusica intercultural ensemble and the Sekaa Gong Hanuman Agung Balinese gamelan. He has performed with John Cage, Tito Puente, and George Clinton, and is the author of books and articles on topics ranging from Balinese gamelan and world music to the ethnomusicology of autism.

Brian Hall is a bassist and composer with a diverse portfolio of musical experiences. From Rock, to Jazz, to World Music, Mr. Hall believes in a performance ethic that spans all musical genres. Brian hails from the Atlanta area where he sprouted from his familial musical roots and has performed up and down the East Coast and crossed the Atlantic Ocean entertaining audiences far and wide. Mr. Hall is an Associate Professor of Music at Florida A&M University where he has taught since 2004. He has performed with many musicians of note including Victor Goines, Marcus Printup, Winard Harper, Longineu Parsons, and Kevin Bales to name a few.
