The opera area at the FSU College of Music presents: Of Mice and Men by Carlisle Floyd. March 8 and 10. Ticketed.
The FSU College of Music invites you to join us for the spring opera: Of Mice and Men by Carlisle Floyd on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m in Opperman Music Hall. (A pre-opera lecture will be presented one hour prior to curtain in Lindsay Recital Hall.)
Based on John Steinbeck’s popular novella, the opera’s story follows farmhands George Milton and Lennie Small as they travel across California in search of work and dream of owning their own farm. Carlisle Floyd depicts this story of the search for comfort, decency, and companionship in a lonely, cruel world through his signature soaring melodies and thoroughly American musical language.
