Our Lives In Letters: A WWII Perspective

Our Lives In Letters: A WWII Perspective

Presented by FSU's Institute On World War II and the Human Experience at Chipola Center for the Arts

Opening Reception: March 14, 2019 @ 6 p.m.

Performance: 7 p.m. (after reception)

Exhibit Dates: March 14- April 22, 2019

The Institute on World War II and the Chipola Center for the Arts present a two-part event featuring various collections of letters and historic artifacts on loan from the Institute. The letters, taken from GIs stationed in differing units of the armed services, offer multiple perspectives of the war. The letters will be presented in an exhibition entitled Love, Dolly: Letters Home in WWII, which will be free and open to the public, and can be visited throughout March and April. Following the opening reception of the exhibit will be a dramatized performance (Our Lives in Letters) of the artifacts on display, showcasing the stories of WWII as told by the people who lived them. These letters provide an intimate glimpse into the lives of those serving in the Second World War and their loved ones on the home front.
