Join us at the Museum of Florida History when Dr. Roger Smith discusses the role East Florida played in the American Revolution during his lecture “The 14th Colony: The American Revolution’s Best Kept Secret.”
Prior to 1780, while the southern colonies were receiving little attention from the British, General George Washington planned five invasions of East Florida. This is perhaps our state’s most unique and over looked story in its colonial era history. Find out why Washington was so determined to drive the British from our shores and why the British were just as resolute to keep the colony loyal.
