Following an accident that disfigures his face, Okuyama becomes isolated from friends and family. His psychiatrist convinces him to wear a prosthetic mask so he can resume a normal life, yet Okuyama’s identity continues to unravel. The Face of Another is both a haunting portrait of contemporary alienation and a staggeringly beautiful piece of modernist film making.
