CAROLINA HOSPITAL is a poet, essayist, novelist, and professor at Miami Dade College. Her individual works have appeared in numerous national publications, most recently in the Norton Anthology of Latino Literature; Saw Palm’s Cuba Issue, the anthology Raising Lilly Ledbetter: Women Occupy the Workplace; Bedford/St. Martin’s Florida Literature, and Longman’s Literature: An Introduction to Reading and Writing. To date, she has published six books including the novel A Little Love, under the pen name C. C. Medina, and A Century of Cuban Writers in Florida, a seminal work for understanding the cultural history of Florida. She participated with 13 South Florida authors such as Carl Hiaasan, James Hall, Dave Barry and Edna Buchanan, in the New York Times’ best-selling novel Naked Came the Manatee, and more recently she published The Child of Exile: a Poetry Memoir and No Excuses! A Brief Survival Guide to Freshman Composition. Her new poetry collection Key West Nights and Other Aftershocks has just been published by Anhinga Press.

MAUREEN SEATON has authored twenty-one poetry collections, both solo and collaborative, most recently, Sweet World (CavanKerry Press, 2019) and Fisher (Black Lawrence Press, 2018). Her awards in poetry include the Iowa Prize and Lambda Literary Award for Furious Cooking, the Audre Lorde Award for Venus Examines Her Breast, an NEA fellowship, and two Pushcart Prizes. Her work has appeared in Best American Poetry as well as numerous literary journals and anthologies. Her memoir, Sex Talks to Girls (University of Wisconsin Press), also garnered a “Lammy” and was recently reprinted in paperback (2018). With poet Neil de la Flor, she edited the anthology Reading Queer: Poetry in a Time of Chaos (Anhinga Press, 2018). Seaton is Professor of English/Creative Writing at the University of Miami.
