18 National and Internationally acclaimed plein air artists festival held annually on the beautiful St. George Island, April 7-13, 2019. This week-long event has something for everyone interested in the arts.
The St. George Island Paint Out is in its second year of inviting plein air artists to the island for a week of painting. This year visitors will have the opportunity to see artwork from 18 award winning artists from Russia to Maine to Florida during the week of April 7- 14, 2019.
There is something going on every day at the Paint Out! Watch as artists paint en plein air all over this island paradise. Or take an art workshop from one of these master painters. The popular afternoon Meet & Greet social hours or the Wednesday lunch session where three artists will paint in different mediums and discuss their work is a great way to get involved. The Starry Night Paint Out held on Wednesday at Island Center is an all-new event and features, artists painting after dark. The restaurants and bars will have dinner and drink specials. Be sure to try the specialty drink, Paint Out Punch, served in a souvenir cup!
Friday evening, April 12, from 5pm until 8pm, the Champagne Reception and Opening Art Show will be held at the St. George Plantation clubhouse. Tickets are $15 and are available at the St. George Island Visitor's Center and area most island restaurants through April 10th.
Saturday, April 13, the show will be open from 10am until 2pm. Register online for a guest pass for the St. George Plantation Clubhouse Open Gallery Art Show. The show will close on Saturday after the show.
Most of the events are free. Only the catered event on Friday night requires tickets. Tickets are available at the St. George Island Visitor Center as well as other area restaurants and shops including: Sea Oats Gallery, St. George Cantina, Sometimes It's Hotter, Doc Myers, and Harry A's.
