The Power of the Black Artist

Presented by Godby High School at Godby High School Auditorium

On February 28th at 7:00 pm, we will be having an arts extravaganza celebrating the Power of the Black Artist to change the world. The program will be split into three parts, Honoring the Past, which features artist from the distant past and the Harlem Renaissance, Changing the Present, artists from the Civil Rights Movement to the present, and Inspiring the Future, which will consist of all original work from both our current students and alumni. Tickets are only $5 and only available at the door on a first come first serve basis, for two hours of entertainment and education how black artist affected change for future generations. You'll see the likes Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Langston Hughes, Alvin Ailey, Bob Marley, James Brown, Nina Simone, Aretha, and Tupac, to name a few.
