In "Alien" we follow a seven man crew in cryosleep, on their way home to earth. They're on board a huge space freighter called the "Nostromo". In the middle of their journey, their sleep is interrupted by the computers foreign signals. It originates from an uninhabited planet, so the crew lands to investigate. There they make contact with an alien life-form, that would soon follow them longer than expected.
