Hands-on science activities on nature and culture
Join us at 1:00 PM on Saturday February 2, for Backyard Discovery at The Grove Museum!
Backyard Discovery connects you to the natural and cultural history of the site through hands-on science activities. In celebration of Black History Month, the February Backyard Discovery program is all about Forgotten Foodways. Participants will discover the history behind some of our favorite southern cuisines and uncover their African roots.
This program is designed for families with elementary and middle school aged children, but all are welcome to participate. Be prepared to be outdoors, wear closed-toed shoes, and bring along sunscreen.
Backyard Discovery at The Grove Museum is free and open to the public. Come and go as you please anytime between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds before or after the program, and tour the museum from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Parking is located at 902 N. Monroe St.
