Backyard Discovery: Bird's the Word

Backyard Discovery: Bird's the Word

Presented by The Grove Museum at The Grove Museum

Join us at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 5 for Backyard Discovery at The Grove Museum! Yes, we're starting a little later this month because of the chilly mornings.

Backyard Discovery connects you to the natural and cultural history of the site through hands-on science activities. For January's program, we will be partnering with the Apalachee Audubon Society to learn all about backyard birds. Can you build a nest that will withstand the elements? Join us on January 5 to find out! Together, we will hone our birding skills, learn about migratory flyways, bird beak adaptations, and even dissect some owl pellets!

This program is designed for families with elementary and middle school aged children, but all are welcome to participate. Be prepared to be outdoors, wear closed-toed shoes, and bring along sunscreen.

Backyard Discovery at The Grove Museum is FREE and open to the public. Come and go as you please anytime between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds before or after the program, and tour the museum from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Parking is located at 902 N. Monroe St.
