Shaam-e-Ghazal

Shaam-e-Ghazal

Presented by India Association of Tallahassee & Swaravahini at Dorothy Cooper Spence Community Center

"Ghazal" is a set of couplets called "Sher"s, which are structured verses with common rhythm and end rhyme. Ghazals are typically written with deep philosophical, spiritual theme or expression of human emotions of love, separation or passion. Ghazals are typically set to music and are performed as odes. "Swaravahini", an informal but popular group of singers from Indian sub-continent is performing several scintillating ghazals in "Shaam-e-ghazal" meaning "an evening of ghazals". This program is free for all.
