Velma Frye’s three decade long career as a performer, composer, arranger and teacher are condensed and packaged in holiday wrapping for this repeat performance at MusicLand on Saturday December 1^st.  Locally renowned for leading singing circles that create strong spiritual connections for women through music, Velma’s holiday concert will combine a set list of her favorites, followed by “Miss Velma’s Compendium of Euphonious Carols” with selections from across the globe, across cultures and across faiths.

Her varied work has included producing/hosting a live performance series for public television, representing Tallahassee\'s Sister City Program with a solo concert in Krasnodar, Russia, followed by two concerts in Germany (and some pub singing in Ireland), anchoring a monthly public radio show for several years as the house band and soloist, earning a master’s degree in music education, recording six solo CDs, teaching jazz history at a junior college, and composing many songs sung around the world in university and community choirs.
