GennaRose Nethercott and Osel Jessica Plante

Black Dog on the Square is excited to host a reading for a touring poet as well as a prominent local voice!

GENNAROSE NETHERCOTT is the author of The Lumberjack’s Dove (Ecco/HarperCollins, 2018), selected by Louise Glück as a winner of the National Poetry Series. Her other projects include A Ghost of Water (an ekphrastic collaboration with printmaker Susan Osgood) and the narrative song collection Modern Ballads. Her work has appeared in BOMB Magazine, The Massachusetts Review, The Offing, PANK, and elsewhere, and she has been a writer-in-residence at the Vermont Studio Center, Art Farm Nebraska, and the Shakespeare & Company bookstore in Paris. She is currently a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellow.

 

Ösel Jessica Plante's poetry, and flash fiction, has appeared or is forthcoming in Best New Poets 2017, the Best Small Fictions 2016 anthology, Blackbird, Narrative, Mississippi Review, New Ohio Review, and others. She is the 2018 winner of the Meridian Editors Prize in poetry, finalist for the 2017 Elinor Benedict Prize at Passages North, runner-up of the 2017 Meridian Editors Prize, finalist for the 2016 New South Journal Poetry Prize, and finalist for the 2016 Mississippi Review Poetry Prize. She's earned an MFA from UNC-Greensboro and is a PhD candidate in Poetry at Florida State University.
