The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide and 11 locations in our region, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. The sixth annual Tallahassee Walk to End Alzheimer's has a goal of raising $85,000 in support of the Alzheimer's Association. The Walk brings together people from all over the Big Bend who can come together to walk in solidarity to end Alzheimer's disease, participate in the motivational Opening Ceremony, listen to music from our talented DJ, as well as participate in our Promise Garden Ceremony by "planting" flowers of different colors that represent one's connection to the disease. Our Kids Zone table also includes arts and crafts and other activities for our youth in attendance. Many join teams made up families and friends, faith communities, civic organizations, as well as businesses and organizations. Others participate by themselves. All are united in a common goal of ending Alzheimer's. To register for the Walk, register a team, or donate to a participant, visit our website: act.alz.org/tallahassee.
