Archives Month

Presented by State Library and Archives of Florida at R.A. Gray Building

October is American Archives Month, and the State Archives of Florida is pleased to offer extended research hours and special events highlighting our 2018 theme, "Focus on Florida: Photography in the Sunshine State."

On Tuesday, October 23 from 4:30-8:00 p.m., our reference room is open for extended hours, and Archives staff will be available to answer research questions. From 6:00-6:45 p.m., Archivist Bella Folmar will discuss using archival records for genealogy research during her presentation, "Thinking Outside the Census." Then from 7:00-7:45 p.m., Social Media and Outreach Coordinator Elizabeth Loeffelman and Photo Archivist Adam Watson will present "Daguerreotype to Digital: A History of Photographic Processes."
