Caribbean Foods in Florida

Caribbean Foods in Florida

Presented by Cross-Cultural Coalition of South Side Tallahassee, Inc. at Jan's Gallery @ Railroad Square

Feelin' hot, hot, hot!  Salsa, pimiento, & pepper.  The tastes and textures of the Caribbean have become an important part of Florida's cuisine.  What would we do without our beans & rice, empanadas, patties, coconut bread, johnny cake, key lime pie, sweet potato pie, and Cuban sandwiches?  Find out how these foods made their way to Florida by attending a presentation by St. Petersburg author and historian, Gary Mormino, at Jan's Gallery in Railroad Square Art Park.  It's part of CaribĂ© 2018! and is free and open to the public.  The lecture and discussion will be followed by a food tasting available for purchase.
